I have set this blog up to record the events of my secondment to New Zealand which starts on 21 January 2009. I have made lots of preparations for my trip and this is the latest one which I hope will enable all of my friends and relatives to keep up to date with what is going on in my life.
I have bought my tickets and got my visas - did that a few weeks ago - and will be leaving UK for Cape Town on Boxing Day. I will be staying with John, my eldest son, then so no further arrangements needed for that part of the trip. On Tuesday I booked my hotel for the 3 day stop over in Sydney so that's the last of the travel arrangements needed for the trip down. Accommodation in Wellington, my first stop in NZ, has been arranged by Audit NZ so I don't need to worry about that. Don't know where it is yet so that's something on my to do list - to check with ANZ so that I know where to go. They have also arranged my accommodation in Palmerston North - my location for the actual work part of the trip.
My to do list gets bigger all the time - as fast as I clear something off I think of something else to add to it! Still five weeks tomorrow and if I haven't done it I will be to late to worry about it.
I don't expect to blog much before I leave the country but will try to blog at least once a week to keep everyone up to date with my adventures
